The Collierville Police Department, Collierville Fire & Rescue, and other public safety agencies will be on-site at West Collierville Middle tomorrow at 7 am for training purposes. You may see a large number of public safety vehicles, such as law enforcement, fire, and medical on the school campus. The Collierville Police Department is simply using the school campus for training.

Thanks to Dr. Dyer, Principal Shaw and Collierville Schools for allowing us to use the school facilities.

Collierville Fire & Rescue had a great time participating in the kickoff to summer event at the Collierville Burch Library. 🚒🚔 😎📚

We loved seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, and giving families a chance to check out one of our fire trucks up close.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and help us kick off summer with a great day at the library!

We are proud to share that Collierville Fire & Rescue Fire Education Specialist Jessica Curran was recently featured in Firehouse Magazine, one of the leading national publications in the fire service, for an article highlighting the importance of partnerships between fire departments and school districts.

“Firefighter Jessica,” as she’s known by students in the community, shared how appreciative she is of the relationships built with Collierville Schools and the support from teachers, administrators, coordinated school health staff, and support staff who have not only helped expand fire and life safety programming throughout local schools, but helped her become a better educator.

These partnerships continue to help connect students and families with important safety education while strengthening the relationship between the fire department and the community.

Jessica Curran says fire departments can extend safety messages beyond the classroom by involving students in safety projects, leveraging community risk data and creating safety...

As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the dedicated EMTs, Advanced EMT’s and Paramedics of Collierville Fire & Rescue who serve our community each and every day.

Since establishing its own ambulance service on July 1, 2022, Collierville Fire & Rescue has remained committed to providing high-quality emergency medical care while ensuring crews have access to the training, equipment, and technology needed to meet the expectations of our community.

This week, EMS Chief Joe Lee R**e wanted to personally thank crews for the work they do day in and day out. Each shift was invited to Firehouse 3, where Chief R**e along with Inspector Rashad Weathers, and Inspector Andy Skic cooked hamburgers and hot dogs while crews spent time together enjoying fellowship and camaraderie outside of emergency responses. Firefighters also received a commemorative EMS Week challenge coin in appreciation of their service.

Chief R**e shared:

“When the opportunity came along to recognize our hardworking EMTs and paramedics for EMS Week, we were excited to be able to give back. They are top-notch professionals every day for the citizens of Collierville. Providing the equipment and resources our crews need is a big part of my job, but being able to support them in their journeys and give them the opportunity to sit down, eat, and fellowship together is very rewarding. Our crews deserve it.”

To the men and women serving on our ambulances and fire apparatus thank you for the compassion, professionalism, and care you provide to our community every day.

This past Saturday night, just after 10p.m., B-Shift crews with Collierville Fire & Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the area of Shelby Drive and Byhalia Road.

Engine companies arrived to find heavy fire showing from a large detached garage located at the rear of the property. Due to the volume of fire and significant fire load crews encountered, firefighters deployed multiple large hand lines and worked aggressively to bring the fire under control.

Thankfully, no firefighters or residents were injured during the incident.

Responding units included Ladder 86, Ladder 85, Engine 82, Engine 81, Engine 83, Unit 86, and Battalion Chief 31.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

We appreciate the quick actions of the resident in reporting the fire and the coordinated efforts of responding crews, our dispatchers and CPD.

That’s a wrap on another year of our Kid Safe fire and life safety programs! 🚒

Throughout the school year, Collierville students participated in hands-on fire and life safety lessons designed to help keep them and their families safe at home, at school, and in emergencies.

Students learned about:
✓ The uniforms firefighters wear and why they wear them
✓ The sounds smoke alarms make at home and at school
✓ Staying safe around things that are hot at home
✓ How and when to call 9-1-1 and questions a dispatcher may ask
✓ “Get Low and Go” under smoke
✓ Having a safe family meeting place
✓ Practicing home fire drills
✓ Spotting hazards and dangers around the home

We wrapped up the year by celebrating everything our students learned with a fire truck visit, certificates, and helmets for our graduates! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

Thank you to our schools, teachers, families, and students for allowing us to be part of helping build safer habits and safer communities. We are proud of each and every student who participated this year!

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

At Collierville Fire & Rescue, we are especially grateful for our partnership with the men and women of Collierville Police Department. Whether responding to emergencies, serving at community events, or supporting one another on difficult days, their commitment to protecting this community is seen and appreciated every day.

Today, we remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and honor the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their legacy forward.

Please join us in taking a moment to remember and honor our fallen peace officers.

Over the past three days, crews from Collierville Fire & Rescue had the opportunity to participate in Water Rescue Operational Exercises hosted by the Millington Fire Department at Orgill (Casper) Lake.

These exercises brought together agencies from across the Mid-South to work through realistic flood rescue scenarios including nighttime operations, boat deployments, GPS-based search assignments, simulated rescues from flooded homes, and low-angle rope rescue operations.

Training alongside neighboring departments and agencies helps strengthen the working relationships and coordination that become critical during large-scale emergencies. We are grateful to Millington Fire Department for hosting this valuable training opportunity and to all participating agencies for their commitment to regional preparedness and teamwork.

While flooding events are not something we experience often in Collierville, our crews understand the importance of being prepared. Collierville Fire & Rescue personnel have previously been deployed to other areas to assist with flood response operations and exercises like these allow our crews to continue sharpening the skills needed to respond when communities need help most.
