Mayor Joyner has made the rounds this week to Collierville Schools classrooms for the initiative! Today the Mayor read to 5th graders at Crosswind Elementary School.

"I want to take a moment and thank the Collierville Police Department for leading a search last night that ultimately led to the safe return of six year old Nakaylah Doddridge to her family. Words cannot do justice to the feelings of relief when the call came over our Police radio…. “we have her and she’s OK." Hundreds of volunteers and Town employees cheered and rejoiced for what was a very happy ending. At one point early in the evening a large group of volunteers joined hands and said a prayer for Nakaylah’s safe return. What an awesome testament to the type of caring and compassionate community that is Collierville. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to the resources that were provided to us by the Memphis Police Department, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Search Dogs South. In addition to those agencies, there were numerous other agencies and private organizations who also offered their assistance and were standing ready if needed. Collierville is a role model for how communities can and should respond in times of crisis; everyone in Collierville can be proud of a day like today." - Mayor Stan Joyner
