But, WE are ready for leadership that listens, shows up, and fights for working families.

It is a sad reality that if you check out the comments on any of the Pride Month posts this week, you'll see exactly WHY the LGBTQ+ community needs our allyship and support, and why we celebrate Pride Month each June

Every June, communities across the world come together to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity. But that celebration must also come with a sobering truth: LGBTQ+ people — and transgender individuals in particular — face violent crime at rates up to five times higher than their non-LGBT neighbors. That is not a statistic to scroll past. That is a crisis demanding action.

When someone is targeted because of who they are — because of their race, their religion, their disability, or their sexual orientation — that is not just a crime. That is a hate crime. And hate crimes strike not just the individual, but the entire community, sending a message that some people are less deserving of safety, dignity, and justice.

Texas law recognizes this. Hate crime statutes exist precisely to send the opposite message — that bias-motivated violence carries harsher consequences, because our justice system must reflect our values.

As your District Attorney, I will make that promise real. We will not let those statutes collect dust. We will use every tool the law provides to hold people accountable — and to make clear, in every courtroom and every community across this county, that hate has a price.

No one should fear being who they are. Not in June. Not ever.

The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising - in a time when the LGBTQ+ community is under attack constantly, both at the state and federal level, it is a great time to show our allyship and support.

Last week, I met with the Northeast Tarrant County Democrats, and they showed up in a big way.

They did not just talk about flipping Tarrant County. They backed it up with a check and a commitment to see this through.

We are all tired of the stunts, the excuses, and a county government that refuses to answer basic questions about jail deaths, wasted taxpayer money, and voting rights under attack.

Tim O’Hare wants people quiet.
