🚨 DWI Driver Arrested at Food Bank 🚨

Officers responded to a major crash in the parking lot of First Baptist Church off Welsh Ave after a vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle and pinned a pedestrian between the two.

The injured female was quickly treated by and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

During the investigation, officers discovered an open beer in the driver’s cupholder and an opened case of beer in the passenger seat. While the beer was clearly along for the ride, it wasn’t licensed to drive—and unfortunately, neither was the driver’s judgment.

The driver was arrested and charged with DWI.

A little humor aside, this crash is a reminder that impaired driving isn’t just reckless—it’s life-changing. What started as a decision to drink and drive ended with a person seriously injured and another headed to jail.

So, because apparently it still needs to be said:

🍺 + 🚗 = 🚔

Our official drinking and driving safety tips remain:

1. Don’t drink and drive.
2. Seriously, don’t drink and drive.
3. If you’ve made it this far and are still considering it, reread tips 1 and 2.

Use a designated driver. Call a friend. Get a rideshare. Sleep on the couch. Do just about anything other than getting behind the wheel impaired.

One bad decision can change multiple lives in a matter of seconds.

We are investigating a motorcycle vs truck crash in the 1800 block of Barron Rd. All west bound traffic is blocked.
