Junior Firefighter Camp – Day 5: Fun Friday!

Today, our campers learned about wall breaching and got the chance to break through Sheetrock themselves. They also received hands-on instruction in rappelling and successfully rappelled from the second floor of the fire station. ~Thank you station 6 C-shift with all of your help today!

The day continued with a fire service obstacle course before wrapping up the week with a special mini graduation, where we celebrated everything the campers learned and accomplished throughout the week.

A huge thank you to our amazing campers and dedicated personnel who made this week such a success. We had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to the next Junior Firefighter Camp!

Junior Firefighter Camp – Day 4: Water Day!

Campers put their skills to the test with fire hose target practice, a sked board relay, a fire hydrant demonstration, an epic water balloon fight, and so much more!
It’s hard to believe camp wraps up tomorrow. We’ve had an incredible week of learning, teamwork, and fun, and we can’t wait to finish strong on our final day!

🚒 Junior Firefighter Camp – Day 3: Fire Extinguisher Training, Vehicle Extrication & Wildland Urban Interface (WUI)! 🌲🔥

Campers learned about the different types of fire extinguishers, the fire triangle, and proper fire extinguisher operation. They also watched firefighters demonstrate vehicle extrication techniques and even had the opportunity to get hands-on with some of the specialized tools used during rescue operations.
The day continued with an introduction to the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI), where campers learned about wildland firefighting and had the exciting opportunity to deploy wildland fire shelters.

Junior Firefighter Camp – Day 2: HazMat & Radios 🚒 📢

Today, campers learned about Hazardous Materials (HazMat) and participated in a hands-on decontamination exercise. They also explored radio communications, practiced teamwork, and practiced the skills needed to communicate effectively in emergency situations. Another exciting day of learning, leadership, and fun!

Junior Firefighter Camp – Day 1: First Aid 🚑

What an incredible first day of Junior Firefighter Camp! Our campers jumped right into learning essential lifesaving skills, including Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed techniques. They also had the opportunity to tour the fire station, participate in a Q&A session with the Station 6-A crew, and experience many other exciting activities.
We’re looking forward to another great day of learning, teamwork, and fun tomorrow!
