We would like this page to serve as a tool for WWU-Students for Equality related activities. We acknowledge your rights to publish personal, political, and spiritual views, but we ask that they not be posted on this page--unless they directly pertain to the WWU-Students for Equality. Students for Equality is about support, tolerance, and equality, and we would like to maintain that spirit here. OU

R POLICY
The WWU Students for Equality page is for anyone who wishes to be apart of the WWU Students for Equality. All updates that are posted in the WWU Students for Equality page will be posted in the WWU Students for Equality group and vice versa. The WWU Students for Equality group is for affiliates of Walla Walla University. This pertains to; Students, Alumni, Faculty and Staff. If you wish to join this group please inform one of our Admins. The group will be made up of affiliates of Walla Walla University, exceptions can be made for non-afiliates but must be approved by the Students for Equality officers. This is to provide a safe and secure environment for our WWU supporters. If you have any questions please e-mail any officer.

All good things must come to an end - and so the time has come to say goodbye to SFE.

“Students for Equality” was born out of the need for a subtle (and somewhat covert) LGBTQ+ and ally campus presence. The name was broad enough in scope to not raise any flags; however, it failed to tackle issues of inequality. Before SFE, Walla Walla University had an unofficial GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance) which was more direct in approach but came with the baggage of its bluntness. That group was subject to undue prejudice by students and the University. Neither of these past groups were granted any official standing from Walla Walla University, and so they shriveled and died as students graduated and left the area.

Though no official statement can be made, I can tell you that something new is underway. With the help of students and faculty, steps are being taken to restart a LGBTQ+ presence here at Walla Walla University - only this time the goal is for the group to become official and recognized. Until that happens, we invite you to like/follow our new (still unofficial) page at www.facebook.com/wwupride or send us an e-mail at [email protected] or follow us on instagram at www.instagram.com/wwupride. These three resources have been established to function as non-WWU affiliated resources, and will continue to function in addition to any future (official) changes that take place.

Today we put up two conestogas with the help of some new volunteers. Who I think we wore out. Let's hope not. Because they were AWESOME. And one was tall. We have a special appreciation for tall volunteers who can put PVC clips on the top of conestogas.
