Today Truck 12 was invited to participate in the 25th anniversary of 9/11 remembrance ceremony and National Anthem at Mission BBQ in Greenbelt, MD. We were able to display the American flag for the event.

This morning, to honor and remember the 343 firefighters who paid the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11, Probationary Firefighter Dalton Simpson climbed 110 stories with a 60lbs vest. He was not born yet on 9/11/2001 but understands the impact of that day on the fire service and the country.

This week senior man, FF Brian Mangino, worked his last shift with the crew at Company 12. He will be transferring to a new assignment starting 9/6. We are grateful for his time that he chose to spend with this crew and will miss his experience, knowledge, and mentorship. Please join us in wishing him all the best in his new assignment.

Busy 8 hours for the crew today. Multiple gas leaks and box alarms. TK812 operated as the RIT truck on the working fire dispatch to 84th Ave in New Carrollton. Once the fire was placed under control the crew was reassigned to perform overhaul to confirm full extinguishment and assist PGFD Fire Investigators in their investigation of the cause and origin of the fire.
