Today, Sgt. Rogers attended Oaklands Elementary School’s “Partners in Education Appreciation Ceremony.” During the event, the administration recognized Sgt. Rogers for her dedication and volunteer service to the school community.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Belinda Johnson and the staff of Oaklands Elementary School for the invitation and continued partnership. The Maryland State Police is honored to support initiatives that strengthen our connection with students, educators, and the community.

On this date, we remember Trooper First Class Wesley Brown, who was shot and killed while working an off duty security detail at a restaurant in Forestville, Maryland in 2010.

Tfc. Brown was assigned to the Forestville Barrack for three years and played an active role in the community he protected and served. He was the founder of “Young Men Enlightening Younger Men” an organization that focused on mentor ship and guidance to young men in the community. His love and passion for the community impacted so many lives and touched the hearts of the young men he mentored.

Tfc. Brown was a remarkable Trooper, and leader in his community. The legacy Tfc. Brown left behind has inspired so many Troopers to actively work in their communities and better the relationship between law enforcement and the community they serve.

Tfc. Brown we stand today and salute you for your love and dedication to the Maryland State Police and the citizens of Prince George’s County, MD.

Today, Sgt. Rogers and Cadet Windsor attended High Point High School’s 4th Annual Community Day. The event was filled with great food, fun activities, and entertainment for the entire family. We would like to thank High Point High School for allowing us to be part of such an amazing event. Our Troopers enjoyed engaging with the community and look forward to returning next year.

Today, Sgt. Rogers attended the Andrews Air Force Base Job Fair. The event was attended by many men and women serving in the military who were exploring career opportunities. The job fair provided Sgt. Rogers with the opportunity to share the many rewarding career paths and opportunities available within the Maryland State Police. We would like to thank Andrews Air Force Base for hosting such a valuable event and allowing us to connect with those who have dedicated themselves to serving our nation.

Today Sgt. Rogers and Cpl. Simms of the Bowie Police Department. Along with other allied law enforcement agencies attended the Employ Prince George’s “Quarterly Bridge to Employment Job & Resource Fair Summer Kick Off Event”. The event was attended by 360 job seekers, and had many career opportunities for the attendees. Thank you to Employ Prince George's for having us we can’t wait to attend your next event.

Today Sgt. Rogers participated in “Career Day” at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville, MD. The event gave students the opportunity to learn about law enforcement and ask questions about the profession. We would like to thank Ms. Weller for the great opportunity to be a part of such an amazing event.

Today Tfc. Arioso attended Port Towns Elementary School’s “Career Day.” The event gave students the opportunity to get up close and personal with Tfc. Arioso’s patrol vehicle while learning more about a career in law enforcement.

Today Sgt. Rogers attended Cooper Lane Elementary School “Career Day”in Landover, MD. The students had the opportunity to check out our patrol vehicles and ask questions regarding the role of a Maryland State Trooper. Thank you to Cooper Lane Elementary for having us attend such a great event.
