Mark it down: Saturday, September 19th, the Colfax Bazaar takes over the Historic Fruit Exchange Building at 229 Railroad St. Doors open at 8am, and by then over 30 vendors will already have their tents up outside.
Walk in and you won't know what you're going to find — vintage, antiques, handmade goods, things that don't fit any category. That's the whole point. Live music plays throughout the day, food trucks are on-site, and this building has been part of that scene since 1910, back when it ran Colfax's fruit-shipping economy. Quiet for decades, now full again several times a year. Step outside and Main Street's right there too, worth the walk.
Coming up from Sacramento, Auburn, Grass Valley, or Nevada City? Exit 135 gets you here, and the Sierra Foothills, two rivers, and Rollins Lake are close enough to make it a full day.
