Also, we're expanding our emerald ash borer discussion to include info on spotted lanternfly and Japanese beetles.

If you can’t attend one of the webinars, we hope you’ll visit our table at the capitol. We’ll have experts available to answer questions and be giving away some fun outreach materials you can share at your home, classroom, or with your community.

Common tansy is easy to recognize in summer, when its tall stems are topped with clusters of bright yellow, button-like flowers. Introduced from Europe, this invasive plant forms dense patches along trails, roadsides, and open areas, where it can crowd out native vegetation. 🌼

While common tansy is much easier to identify during the growing season, its stiff stems can sometimes remain visible above snowbanks in winter. Even when plants aren’t easy to identify, invasive species can still be present along the places we recreate.

Common tansy spreads by seed and underground roots, allowing it to slowly expand over time. Keeping boots, clothing, and gear clean year-round helps reduce the risk of moving seeds between sites — no matter the season.

Whether you’re hiking in summer or exploring snowy trails in winter, make PlayCleanGo part of your routine to help protect native habitats.

Palmer Amaranth is a Class A noxious w**d in the state of Washington. It was found a couple years ago in Spokane and Walla Walla counties. Definitely DON'T want to get it started here! If you bought bird seed at any of these stores, please look in to this. Thanks!

The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) have issued a recall of Signature Pet Care Songbird Blend Wild Bird Food 7 LB, sold at Albertsons, Safeway and Haggen stores in in WA and OR, and manufactured by Global Harvest Foods.
