Yesterday, Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department was dispatched for a reported smoke condition in the area. Upon investigation, crews located a well-involved gazebo fire located more than 1,000 feet off the roadway with limited access to the scene.

Due to the remote location and challenging access, mutual aid was requested. We would like to thank the for responding with an Engine, Brush Truck, and Gator, which proved invaluable in reaching and extinguishing the fire. We also extend our appreciation to the for standing by at our headquarters and providing district coverage during the incident.

Firefighters operated on scene for approximately 2.5 hours extinguishing the fire, overhauling the area, and ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.

Thank you to all responding agencies for their assistance and continued partnership in protecting our communities.

Thank you to our Volunteer EMTS, Paid Paramedics, ambulance drivers, Firefighters, and officers who help facilitate getting those injured or hurt to the appropriate care.

Today, members of the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department attended specialized Gas Emergency Training at the Suffolk County Fire Academy.

Training focused on identifying and mitigating gas-related emergencies, hazard recognition, scene safety, monitoring equipment, and coordinated response operations. These hands-on evolutions help ensure our members remain prepared to safely handle emergencies involving natural gas and propane incidents within our community.

A big thank you to for joining us march! There’s nothing like the sound of the pipes to keep our members to march in step… or at least close enough. Thank you ALWAYS to the community for your support!!

This past weekend, CSHFD crews braved the cold for winter boat operations training.

The mission doesn’t stop when the temperature drops — and neither do we.

Proud of our volunteer members and district employees working side by side to get the mission done. This morning crews split tasks to provide patient care while clearing the driveway — because the snow doesn’t stop the mission from getting accomplished. ❄️🚑
