Charlie Company 3-126th Aviation Air Ambulance is an Army Medical Evacuation unit located on Burlington International Airport in South Burlington, Vermont. The company was formed in 2004 after the transformation from the 86th Med Company Air Ambulance (-), Vermont’s first AeroMedical Evacuation unit. In 2005 C Co 3-126th deployed to Central Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where it flew

1,680 flight hours rescuing over 1000 patients from Coalition Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airman to Civilian Contractors, Local Nationals and Enemy Prisoners of War all in need of critical medical attention. In 2008 C Co received the world’s first production model HH-60M Blackhawk with state of the art onboard medical lifesaving equipment and capabilities transforming the Blackhawk into an actual Air Ambulance with a variety of machines such as an environmental control system, oxygen generating system, enroute medical care, suction, patient monitors, and an external electrical rescue hoist. Shortly thereafter, the Soldiers of Charlie Company were called into action yet again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn in order to combat test the Military’s newest fleet of Flying Ambulances. Over the tour the Soldiers totaled over 1,700 flight hours and 450 patients rescued. It is Charlie Company’s mission to maintain the highest readiness level with its advanced equipment and exceptional soldiers. We stand ready to support the citizens through school and community events, state and local authorities for search and rescue operations, and the country in support of the war on terrorism.

Our very own, SFC Steven Miles, just graduated from Flight Instructor course and will be a great addition to our standardization community as an FI for C/Co!
If you see him, please send him a big congrats!
Becoming a flight instructor is a very selective process and a very difficult course. We are so proud of SFC Miles and all of his efforts. Welcome back and let’s go fly! 🚁🤘🏼

Hello WAI Members!

Get an inside look at military aviation with the Vermont Chapter of Women in Aviation! Our February meeting heads to the Vermont Army National Guard Army Aviation Facility for a dynamic panel discussion with CPT Jenny Peterson, CPT Calli Murphy, and 1LT Kayla Sellenberg—three female helicopter pilots flying and leading in uniform.

They’ll share how they became pilots, the challenges women face in aviation, how they balance mission demands with real life, and what it truly takes to succeed in the cockpit. Stick around after the discussion for an optional aircraft tour.

For units like Patriot MEDEVAC, these conversations matter. Working face-to-face with industry helps ensure we get the right equipment, the right sustainment, and the right modernization to support our crews and the patients we serve.

Strong partnerships lead to better readiness—and better readiness saves lives!
