Last week Midway 2nd graders were egg-cited to have Fire District 91 come out to Midway to test the engineering projects they designed to protect their eggs from a great fall. It was an egg-straordinary opportunity to learn how to plan, test, and refine, to study physics concepts like force, impact, and gravity, and practice growth mindset—treating broken eggs as data rather than failure. Thank you to all the families who were able to send in supplies! 📦🥚

📚🦈 Drop Everything and Read at Midway Elementary! 🦈📚

During the month of May Midway Sharks logged more than 6,000 minutes of reading while building their reading stamina and growing as readers. Some students curled up with a good book and a flashlight, while others reached impressive goals of reading independently for an entire hour!

Reading every day helps students strengthen vocabulary, improve comprehension, build knowledge, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Most importantly, it opens the door to new ideas, adventures, and possibilities.

We are so proud of our Sharks for diving into books and making reading a priority. Make sure to keep those pages turning this summer! 📖☀️

Yesterday's family picnic was so much fun! 🌞 We are blown away by how many came out to enjoy lunch with us. We truly have such amazing support here at Midway. Thank you to the Midway PTO for the popsicles, and all the work you do behind the scenes to provide opportunities for us to learn and grow closer as a community all through the year.🙌 We have another busy week coming up packed full of end of year activities. Remember there is no late start this Wednesday for the upcoming last full week of school.
