Today, we are pleased to acknowledge an important figure in our local public safety community: Tavis Leake, who served as (2014-2018) Fire Chief of the Sedgwick County Fire District in Kansas. Chief Leake advanced through the ranks over a career spanning more than two decades and became the first African American Fire Chief for the Sedgwick County Fire Department.
