I found this in my notes 📝 can’t remember who wrote it, but came across it this morning and had to share.
What made Jezebel so dangerous was her ability to sound like a prophet when she was really just a parrot of the prophets. She knew what to say, when to say it, how to say it and people fell for it because she was wicked and they were weak.
Discernment is a gift we’ve been given to know if we’re talking to a saint or a serpent, and so many times we’re suffocated by one we thought was just coming in for a hug.
The church cannot afford to be seduced by Jezebel in a time of war. God has placed Deborah’s in the Kingdom who hear from the Lord and have taken their place under their assigned palm tree to love His people and speak His Word and will over them- she will take us into battle with precision, humility and strategy.
But there are some who will choose to follow the parrot instead of the prophets because they have convinced themselves she is everything they need, but she leads them to their death. Discernment lacking Godly wisdom produces suspicion and that causes us to make decisions based of self-preservation rather than Holy Spirit conviction.
The battle is real and it is right in front of us. The Baraks will grab hold of their Deborah but the Ahabs will choose a queen- and we sit among each other every single Sunday.
A house divided can’t stand. God is giving us prophetic voices to help lead us, but he doesn’t force us to listen.
Even the elect will be deceived.
But as for me, find me under my palm tree- I’ve got a word from the Lord, my eyes set on the enemy, and a BB gun under my arm in case any parrots try to make a home on my branches.
Know who you’re listening to, church.
It’s a matter of life and death.
