Last night at approximately 22:30, Coburg Fire Volunteer Fire District responded to a walk-in patient who arrived in active labor.

Our duty crew quickly assisted the patient out of her vehicle, called dispatch for a medic unit and for a volunteer response and began care on scene. Within moments, firefighters successfully delivered a healthy baby.

Pictured below are Firefighter/EMT Ethan Holm and volunteer Firefighter Eddie Lopez, the first two on scene, who played a critical role in the safe delivery. This marked the first delivery for both members.

Great work by these two, and a proud moment for Coburg Fire. Congratulations to the family!

On May 8, 2026, Coburg Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on I-5. Upon arrival, crews quickly initiated patient care and performed extrication to safely remove a patient from the vehicle.

Two patients were transported from the scene—one by ambulance and one by Life Flight. Both patients sustained serious injuries but are expected to survive.

Nine volunteers along with staff responded to the incident, along with two ambulances from Eugene Springfield Fire.
