After inspection this morning the riverfront area has been reopened for public activities at this time.

Please be aware that improvements to the area are not yet 100% complete, and temporary closures may be necessary as work progresses. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation throughout this project.

We will continue to provide updates as additional work is scheduled.

The Riverfront area is closed to ALL traffic with no exceptions. No fishing, walking, riding or any other activities until further notice. Paving and painting work is currently underway, and the road will be roped off and clearly marked as closed.

Police will be monitoring and enforcing the road closure. Please be respectful of the construction zone by obeying all posted signs and barriers.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as these improvements are completed.

Tomorrow morning, June 19th, CJ Hughes will be working on Pike Street. The road will remain open however flaggers will be present. Please expect delays as work continues.

Beginning Monday, June 22nd, Ridgeway Street will be closed from the Lane Street intersection to the Depot Street intersection. Please use caution, follow all posted signage, and avoid traveling through the area if possible.

Due to continuing gas line work, there will be a road closure on Lane Street this morning. The closure will begin at the Ridgeway intersection and continue to the US 52 overpass near the Lawrence County Joint Response Center.

Please use alternate routes if possible and use caution when traveling in the area.

C.J. Hughes has informed our office that there will be road closures throughout the week on Lane Street, heading toward the Carlyle and Ridgeway intersection, due to gas line work. The closure is expected to be in effect daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additionally, St. Charles Street will remain closed today as work is completed, work in this area is expected to wrap up by the end of the day.

Residents who live within the closed area will still have access to their homes. C.J. Hughes personnel will assist residents with getting in and out of their driveways as needed.

Please use caution when traveling in these areas and follow all road closure signs. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Posting as a reminder due to interruptions during construction:

The Riverfront area and boat docks are currently CLOSED due to ongoing project construction. This closure applies to all traffic, whether by vehicle or on foot.

No fishing, boating, or kayaking is permitted at this time.

Please abide by all posted road closure signs as blacktopping is scheduled to begin soon.

These closures are in place for the safety of both the public and construction crews.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while work is being completed. We will announce once the area is reopened for public use.

5/13/2026: BOIL WATER ADVISORY HAS BEEN LIFTED!

Due to the water outage caused by the line break this morning, a 48-hour boil water advisory is now in effect.

The advisory applies to all customers beginning at Township Road 102 and extending through the end of our service area on County Road 6.

This advisory will remain in effect for 48 hours unless otherwise notified.

Water Line Break

Due to a line break, customers beginning at Township Road 102 through the end of our service area on County Road 6 will be without water while repairs are being made. Repairs are expected to begin at 8:30 a.m.
