📣 Announcement: Important Update to the Independence Middle School page
PLEASE READ ALL

Your Independence Middle School page is undergoing changes. Due to new rules and procedures, we will be updating our page and kindly request that you follow our new official page. You will find the link to the new page below. 👇

The new page is titled “Independence Middle School RCS” for Raleigh County Schools. Please note that there are several “Independence Middle School” pages outside of West Virginia, so be sure to look for RCS to ensure you are following the correct one.

We know this page holds over a decade of memories—photos, videos, and special moments. The current page will remain available until after the New Year so that you may save any pictures or posts you want to keep.

Our page is designed to provide parents and students with accurate, up-to-date information about Indy Middle, as well as celebrate our Patriots’ accomplishments in Academics, the Arts, and Athletics. We take great pride in maintaining a positive, encouraging space that reflects our core values and integrity.

Due to inclement weather and today’s remote learning day, please see the attached memo from Superintendent Dr. Starcher of the location change for
the RCBOE’s scheduled meeting for today, December 9, 2025 at 4:30 PM.

We also ask that the principals of the schools for the LSIC Presentations and Student Recognitions to please notify the staff, students, parents and businesses
and let them know it will be rescheduled at a later date.

Indy Middle kicked off their wrestling season this weekend at the WWHS Wayne Bennett Duals and brought home a Team 4th Place finish!

Top wrestlers were:
Benji Pittman, Noah Herron, Karson Viars, and Brantley Redden who all went 5-0.
Zymier Haynes 3-0
Landon Carroll 4-1,
Felyx Arreguin 3-1
