WHO'S READY TO HAVE SOME FUN?! 💙❤️🇺🇸

Let's have a fun and SAFE time during this great community event! CCPD and the CC Auxiliary Police will be doing extra patrol all day long! 🚨🚨🚨🚨

The CCPD table will be located right in front of the police department, we will be handing out 250th flags! Also, we will be selling Back The Blue apparel for the Dennis Neary Scholarship. You'll see Coal City's finest walking around all over the event however, if you have an concerns you can always come to the police table for assistance.

Do's & Don'ts of having a great time ✨
❌DONT drink & drive
✨DO buy your tickets for the hot air balloon ride
❌DONT fight with anyone in the beer tent
✨DO join the hot dog eating contest featuring a PD officer

Please note these streets will be closed during these times:
Broadway Street (Oak St- Walnut St) will be closed starting at 9:30am and will be re-open at 8pm.
Broadway Street (Chestnut St- Walnut St) will closed 9:30am and will be re-open at 12am.

Please drive responsible to the Coal City High School for the drone and firework show at 8pm.

With the threat for tornadoes across the region tomorrow, now is a great time to review tornado sheltering guidelines. Here are some tips on what makes a shelter good or bad.

Two rounds of potentially severe storms are expected Wednesday, the first in the morning into the early afternoon. These storms may produce damaging winds and large hail. A second, potentially more dangerous round of potentially tornadic thunderstorms is expected late in the afternoon into early evening.

On the early hours of Monday, June 15, 2026, Coal City Police Department was dispatched to a residence on the block of Kankakee Street.

Coal City Police Officers located and assisted a male subject. This subject was not a threat to the public and got the assistance that he needed by the department and was relocated.

Please know, this subject was not involved in any criminal incidents that occurred over the weekend.
