TxDOT’s Labor Day impaired driving campaign reminds motorists of the deadly risks of impaired driving and urges them to drive sober and like a Texan: kind, courteous and safe.

During Labor Day Weekend last year, a person was killed by an impaired driver every three hours. Alcohol isn’t the only risk. Cannabis, cold medicine, prescription drugs and any substance that affects judgment or motor function can make driving dangerous.

The Clyde Police Department has partnered with TxDOT through the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) and will be adding extra enforcement during the Labor Day holiday to help keep our roads safe.

Texans have better options: call a rideshare, take public transit, designate a sober driver or stay where you are. The safest plan is the one made before impairment begins.

Thanks to the hard work of a whole lot of people, 604 Underpass is back open.

***** Accident ****

Please AVOID the intersection of 604 and I-20.

At this moment. 604 is complete shut down until we can get this accident cleared.
