The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for extreme fire weather today. Hot, dry, and windy conditions will make fire starts more likely and active fires spread more quickly. Open Burning is closed in all Park County fire districts during Red Flag Warinings. Take extra care today, especially with vechicles dragging chains and equipment making sparks. These have been the majority of our human caused fires recently. It is important to stay alert during fire season and aware of any fires in your area. If at anytime you do not feel safe, it is your responsibility to evacuate to safety. Do not wait for an evacuation notice. I would just like to take a moment to mention that it is a team effort to be able and ready to respond to calls. I would like to thank everyone on this department for everything they have done from small thing like cleaning windows, to actually putting boots on the ground at calls.
