Clover High School Celebrates the Class of 2026
More than 550 Clover High School graduates crossed the stage and received their diplomas last night during commencement exercises, marking the culmination of years of hard work, achievement, and memories shared on the school's current campus.
The ceremony began with the presentation of the colors by the Air Force JROTC, followed by a stirring rendition of the National Anthem performed by the Choraliers. Cheyenne Joshi, Fellowship of Christian Athletes captain, offered the opening prayer, setting a reflective tone for the evening's celebration.
Student Body President Tori Klein challenged her classmates to embrace the opportunities ahead while reflecting on their unique place in Clover High School history.
"It's also a bit strange realizing we're the last class to know CHS like this, the only high school in the district," Klein said. "But maybe that's a reminder that every chapter of our lives eventually becomes history for someone else to learn from. So, let's try turning our little legacies of hype Friday night lights, award-winning programs, and lasting friendships into practice for one day creating legacies that can change the world."
Senior Class President Shayla Linck presented the Class of 2026's senior gift: a commemorative mural honoring the 50-year history of the current Clover High School campus. Designed by members of Student Council, the mural celebrates five decades of Clover graduates, with each letter in "CLOVER" representing a different decade and highlighting notable achievements from that era.
Clover High School Principal Donna Farris reflected on the significance of the evening, particularly as the district prepares to open a second high school next year.
"Next year, our community begins a new chapter as a new high school opens," Farris said. "And while change can sometimes feel emotional, tonight reminds us of something important: the heart of a community is never found in a building. It's found in its people."
Salutatorian Bella Grace Ward encouraged her classmates to thoughtfully choose the people who will shape their futures.
"As we start our next chapters in life, we will need to create our place in the midst of new people," Ward said. "Surround yourself with people who believe in the best YOU you can be."
Valedictorian Ella Nighbor reflected on finding joy in life's everyday moments, sharing a passage from Donna Ashworth's poem "Joy Chose You." Through her remarks, Nighbor reminded graduates to recognize and embrace joy as they move forward into the next stage of their lives.
The evening concluded with the presentation of diplomas as more than 550 graduates officially joined the ranks of Clover High School alumni. As the Class of 2026 turns the page to a new chapter, they leave behind a legacy of academic excellence, leadership, service, athletic achievement, and school pride that will continue to shape the Clover community for years to come.
