πŸš‘β€οΈ First Aid & CPR Class Interest β€οΈπŸš‘

We would like to ask the community if there be any interest for us to have a First Aid/CPR class with certification? We’ve had a few inquiries and would love to know if enough people are interested to schedule one!

This is a great opportunity for young adults planning to babysit this summer, new parents and parents, grandparents, caregivers, or anyone who just wants to learn these lifesaving skills.

According to the American Heart Association, immediate bystander CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

There would be a small fee associated for your certification and instructors.

πŸ’¬ Please comment below if you’d be interested!

🚧 Pouring cement has officially begun in the apparatus bay! 🚧

The big red apparatus doors are also on site and ready for installation!

Inside, sheetrock is going up throughout the station, bringing the walls together and making the layout much easier to see.

Watching this project from the beginning of clearing the land to where it stands now has been incredibly exciting. Staff are looking forward to moving into this well-deserved station.

Sometimes it's the little things that have the biggest impact on overall efficiency and day to day operations. There will be significantly more space for onsite training, helping crews sharpen lifesaving skills every day. There will be room to safely move in, out, and around all the vehicles. Dedicated areas for equipment storage, keeping everything organized in one place instead of spread throughout the building.

Crew quarters are separated, giving staff a space to rest and regroup between calls while on shift for 24 hours. The gym will be able to hold all of our fitness equipment in one location, supporting both physical readiness and mental wellness.

We're excited to utilize the larger training room for board meetings, trainings, classes, and other gatherings on site. Admin staff will have adequate office space along with proper storage, creating a clean and organized work environment. Also really exciting, there will even be enough parking for both staff and visitors!

It is going to be a busy summer as progress continues to move quickly. It's really starting to look like a fire station and the perfect space the CAFD needed to continue to provide the best service possible to our community members. Stay tuned for more updates!πŸš‘ πŸš’

πŸš’πŸ”₯ Structure Fire Response in Cloquet πŸ”₯πŸš’

Last evening at 1925, CAFD was paged to a structure fire in Cloquet. Upon arrival, C Shift found an active fire on the back side of the house. All occupants were safely outside at the time.

Our crew acted quickly and performed an interior attack, bringing the fire under control fast. βœ… Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupant. ❀️

Responding units included Battalion Chief Garberg, C Shift, Engine 1, Tower 1, Medic 12, and Squad 1. πŸš‘πŸš’

Due to the team’s rapid response and excellent work, further damage to nearby homes was prevented and the safety of others was protected. πŸ‘

Great job to everyone involved, and thank you for your dedication, quick response, and professionalism in handling this incident! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯
