We have had several people inquiring about getting a Real Estate exemption due to a Cemetery on their property .

A cemetery does qualify for tax exemption and only up to ONE acre .

You must have the acreage for the cemetery excepted out of the existing tract of land and have it recorded. Once it is recorded we will make the appropriate changes and the Cemetery will be exempt.

We will start processing Income Taxes Monday February 9th . We are open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm .

We have a after hours drop box at the rear of the DCER Building, take one of the large brown envelopes and fill out the paperwork, seal up and put in Black Drop Box .
Please make sure your contact information is correct and you will be notified once taxes have been processed.

As we start a New Year I want to remind anyone that has NOT applied for the Elderly & Disabled Tax Credit to stop by our office to pick up an application or simply give us a call and we will get one sent out to you . The tax credit is $150.00 on Real Estate.
The deadline to apply for the E&D Tax credit is APRIL 1st, 2026.
If you had applied last year for the Tax Credit then you will be receiving an application in the mail . 

Also If you are a Veteran and are 100% Service Connected Disabled and you have Not applied for Veterans Exemptions on Real Estate or personal property please give us a call or come by our office so we can assist you.
