Just to let everyone in our community know, Dickenson County Ambulance Service is still here, still accepting trips.

With the exception of Medicaid brokered trips, you have the legal right to choose which ambulance service that you ride with.

If you are in the hospital, needing transport to another facility, and you wish to utilize the services of Dickenson County Ambulance Service, just tell your nurse. Thats your legal right. Remember, unless we are already on another call, we can respond to Dickenson Community Hospital faster than any out of town agency.

Our thoughts and prayers are going out to our friends and colleagues at Dante Rescue Squad.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Captain, Daniel "Dan" Glass, Jr.

Captain Glass faithfully served as the leader of the Dante Rescue Squad for many years and dedicated himself to serving our community since 1968. His unwavering commitment, leadership, and compassion touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.

Funeral arrangements will be shared here as soon as they become available.

Please keep the Glass family and all members of the Dante Rescue Squad in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time as we mourn the loss of a truly remarkable man.
