The City of Clintonville and the Clintonville Police Department are proud to have had the ability to bring a Police K9 back to the city to help keep the citizens of the City of Clintonville safe from crime and the streets clear of drugs. Meet Chero (pronounced "karo"), he is a 2 year old Bi-colored German Sheperd from the Czech Republic. On December 12, 2014, he and his handler completed Certifica
tion for Narcotics Detection and are back on the streets for regular patrol. In April 2015, Chero and his handler will return to training for Person/Article Search and Protection Training. The initial purchase of Chero and training were funded by previous donations for the K9 Fund. The police department is proud to try to keep all of the expenses for the K9 Unit funded all by donation. This does not put an undo burden or stress on the City of Clintonville Annual Budget.
