June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.

Real strength is asking for help. You are not alone and you matter. Your mental health matters. Be sure to talk about it and check in on each other.

It is okay to not be okay and it is okay to ask for help.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please have them reach out to a trusted person, mental health professional or a crisis resource.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month.

Elder abuse can include many forms including physical abuse, emotional or psychological abuse, s*xual abuse, neglect or deprivation and financial exploitation.

The most common types of abuse are committed by someone the older adult knows and trusts - frequently being a family member, caregiver or other close acquaintance.

Every year, 1 in 10 adults over age 60 experience some form of elder abuse and only a fraction of cases are ever reported.

We hope everyone will take a moment and learn the signs and different types of elder abuse and how you can help protect those in our community.

As the representative of the National District Attorneys Association it was interesting and humbling yesterday to participate in the International Chiefs of Police Conference and provide remarks on combating Transnational Criminal Organizations. There were so many law enforcement leaders there with serious organized crime problems that are difficult for us to imagine.

It was a great honor this week to stand before the U.S. Supreme Court and speak the hallowed words, “Mr. Chief Justice and may it please the Court….” It was made even more special that the occasion was to act as a Member of the Supreme Court Bar to request the admission of our very own Assistant District Attorney General Brandon Pelizzari and 22 other highly accomplished and respected District Attorneys and Assistant District Attorneys General from Tennessee. Congratulations to them all on their admission to practice before our nation’s highest court!
