Curious about oysters on Whidbey Island? Join Emily Wilder of Salinity Seafood & More to explore oyster life cycles, ecological benefits, and sustainable farming by local small-scale growers. Learn how oysters filter water, support marine life, why the native Olympia oyster matters, and how to find fresh, safe-to-eat oysters.

Emily will demonstrate shucking techniques using empty shells and provide informative handouts with oyster resources. No live oysters will be served.

This year’s Sno-Isle Reads Together title is ... "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt!🎉📚
Join this annual community reading program designed to spark meaningful conversations and connection through the power of storytelling.

Born and raised in Washington, Van Pelt’s luminous debut novel follows widow Tova Sullivan, who forms an unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus reluctantly residing at the Sowell Bay Aquarium. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the novel explores grief, connection, and community as Tova searches for answers surrounding her son’s disappearance 30 years earlier.

Next week is the second part of the Let's Dance series, a collaborative effort from the Clinton Library, Langley Library, and Freeland Library, to offer introductory experiences to different dances that can be performed as an individual while making connections with others.

This 90-minute session features: flamenco with Amelia Moore of Oleaje Flamenco at the Bayview Hall.

No prior dance experience is required, just come ready to move and have a great time! Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Hard sole shoes are recommended. If you have limited mobility, you can still participate in flamenco while sitting in a chair.
