Press Release

On January 12, 2026, at approximately 7:25 p.m., Clinton Police Officers responded to a reported road rage incident that began in the area of 2025 North 2650 West in Clinton. Both involved parties contacted Davis County Dispatch while the incident was ongoing.

During the call with dispatch, one of the involved parties accidentally discharged a firearm, resulting in a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg. That individual was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

The other involved party has been contacted and is cooperating with officers. This incident remains under investigation, and charges are pending. No additional information is available at this time.
