***UPDATE*** the names of three souls lost were Joshua Watson (42) of Louisville, Shranda Milam (38) of Wingo, and Krista Whitt (30) of Paducah. The address for each was from their license information.

The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a fatality collision that happened last night at Ingram Barge in Columbus. Ingram employees heard the collision and called dispatch after finding what they believed to be a car that hit their ramp and went into the river. A diver with McCracken County Emergency Management dove down to the vehicle and hooked it up to a wrecker to be pulled out. Once the vehicle was out of the water it was determined that there were three occupants inside. The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time. Identities of the occupants will not be released at this time, as families have not yet been notified. Big thank you to, McCracken County EM, Kentucky State Police, Buddy’s Wrecker Service, Ingram Barge Company, and every first responder in Hickman County.

Let's talk just a little bit about our America 250 Celebrations. Yes, you read that right, CelebrationS.

Starting off our year, we have a Quilt Exhibit at the library, running through April.

April is also Chicken Fest, kicked off by a Dumpling Supper hosted by Woman's Club. Chickens and a Festival! Chicken Fest also includes an antique car show hosted by the museum.

In May (May 18) we are playing an all American movie, The Sandlot on the lawn of the library. Popcorn, lawn chairs, drinks, and family fun.

Yard & Porch & Business decorating contest!

June 27 is the big parade!

August is the Farm to Fork by Chamber & Friends. Not their official title but if I start naming names now, I might leave someone out.

September we plan to have Sit A Spell at the library. This is a wonderful opportunity to sit, visit, and listen to oral history as locals tell it.

There is so much more to tell and share! So many plans and so much hard work is being poured into this year.

Ways you can Help:
1) Come to the next meeting; March 24, that's Tuesday. 6pm.
2) Invite people you know to participate in the parade. We need floats!
3) Make sure you share your America 250 plans with us so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
