Our Ecodrum composter has arrived!!! We are really excited to pilot this program as the only school in the US that has one on campus!!! Huge thank you to Davis Cash Lumber for coming up with their fork lift to help us unload! We appreciate your continuous help and support of Clinton Schools!

CHS EAST students attended EAST Conference in Hot Springs this week. Students worked to create a booth that fit with the convention theme and showcased their EAST projects. They also had the opportunity to meet other EAST students from around the state.

Clinton High School has been chosen to receive the Farm to School Ecodrum composting system, valued at over $22,000, as a result of a thorough application process. This process showcased the school's strong commitment to composting and conservation. This installation represents the first Ecodrum placement in a school environment. We are enthusiastic about piloting this program. The new system will bring about a significant enhancement to our current composting capabilities, facilitating a district-wide expansion. Ecodrum will handle the installation and provide training for students and staff on the system's operation, as well as strategies for achieving optimal organic compost. This advanced system will yield high-quality organic compost in a remarkably short period, mere weeks. The resulting compost will be applied in the school garden.

Thank you to Bo Davidson with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for dropping off our Fishing in the Natural State material. Material includes curriculum and fishing equipment. The program is striving to instill a culture of conservation and stewardship in our school age population. We are excited to get started.

CHS EAST student, Chloe Hudson, braved the cold today to make sure our school chickens were ready for the upcoming cold. A Farm Project is as hard of a project as any requiring dedication beyond the regular school hours. The chickens have required daily care throughout the break and are clearly in great hands! Great job Chloe!

We are proud to unveil the results of our holiday project. CHS EAST student, Sam Standridge, used his drone to take photos of the staff and students spelling the word JOY for our CHS Christmas postcards. Postcards were sent to student families as a way to spread Joy this holiday season.
