Today, I was honored to spend some time with the incredible men and women participating in the First Responder Ride for Resilience. 🚴‍♂️❤️

In partnership with Friends of Firefighters, LIVESTRONG, and the Boston Fire Cancer Foundation, they have brought together a community of nearly 200 first responders and civilians who will ride 343 miles over five days to raise awareness of the impact cancer has on the physical and mental health of the first responder community.

We were proud to have the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department serve as one of the stops along their journey today, giving the riders a much-needed opportunity to take a break, recharge, and connect before getting back on the road.

I am personally so grateful for our first responders and the sacrifices they and their families make every day. As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th, this ride carries an especially powerful meaning. It honors those we lost, those who answered the call that day, and the first responders who continue to live with the physical and emotional effects of their service.

Twenty-five years may have passed, but our responsibility to remember has not.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️

Now that the curtain has closed and our amazing cast and crew took their final well-deserved bows, I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge what a unique and special experience it was to put on The Music Man, Sr with our cast and crew of older adults. What a leap of faith to say yes to a project like this — that goes for the cast as well as our directors! Everyone worked SO hard all summer and the production filled the Andrews Memorial theater with so much energy, joy, and human connection — it was palpable. Thank you all to who were a part of it 🫶🏻 The Clinton community especially went out of its way to hold us up and sing the praises of our talented seniors and we really appreciate it! Til the next time! 🎭

🍩 Welcome Back, Beach Donuts! 🍩

We’re thrilled to celebrate the official reopening of Beach Donuts tomorrow (September 4th) in Westbrook! After overcoming the devastating fire that forced them to close, it’s wonderful to see this beloved local business back on its feet and ready to serve the community again.

While their new location is just over the town line in Westbrook, Beach Donuts remains very much a part of the Clinton community and is a valued part of the local business family. ❤️

We wish them tremendous success in their new location and are so happy to see them thriving again!

And a special thank you to Beach Donuts for sending Town Hall a sweet treat! 🍩☕️ We certainly appreciate the thoughtfulness and the delicious donuts!

Congratulations, Beach Donuts! We’re rooting for you every step of the way! 🎉

🌳 What should the future of Liberty Green look like? We want to hear from YOU!

Liberty Green is an important community space, and as we look toward its future, the Town of Clinton is asking residents and community groups to help us imagine what it can become.

In partnership with the Town Manager’s Office, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, our Tree Warden, and the Planning Office, we are gathering community feedback about how Liberty Green should be used, improved, and cared for in the years ahead.

What would you like to see? Think about the types of events and activities the Green should accommodate, accessibility, landscaping, gathering spaces, maintenance, and anything else that could make Liberty Green an even better community space.

An aerial image and an initial concept are being shared to help start the conversation but they are just a starting point. We want to hear your ideas!

📅 Please share your feedback by September 30th.

📧 Send your thoughts, ideas, or marked-up concepts to Town Planner Abby Piersall at [email protected].

And your input won’t stop there. Once we hear from the community, Town staff will work with our on-call consulting firm to develop two landscape plan concepts based on the feedback we receive. Later this fall, we will hold a community meeting to share what we heard, review the concepts, and discuss a final plan.

Ultimately, our goal is to recommend a direction for how Liberty Green will be managed and enjoyed for years to come.

🌳 This is your community and your Green, help us shape its future!

Thank you for participating and being part of the conversation!

A reminder that our Veterans Coffee & Connections gathering will take place this Thursday from 10:00–11:30 AM in the Town Hall Green Room. This monthly gathering has been a wonderful addition for our local veterans which provides a welcoming place to come together, enjoy a cup of coffee, share stories, build friendships, and connect with one another.

We are grateful to the Clinton Veterans Advisory Committee and everyone who has helped make these gatherings such a success. Coffee & Connections will continue each month, and we encourage veterans in our community to stop by and join us.

📚🍎 Welcome Back to School, Clinton! 🚌✏️

It’s hard to believe how quickly the summer flew by, but here we are…school is back in session today and fall is just around the corner! 🍂

On behalf of the Town of Clinton, I would like to wish all of our Clinton students, teachers, administrators, and staff a wonderful, safe, and successful school year. I hope the year ahead is filled with learning, new experiences, friendships, and many accomplishments.

With students heading back to school, please remember to take a little extra time on the roads. Be mindful of school buses and bus stops, obey school bus signals, slow down in school zones, and always stop for pedestrians at our crosswalks. Our students’ safety is a responsibility 🚌

Best wishes to all of our students and school families for a happy, healthy, safe, and successful 2026–2027 school year! 💙📚

🌸 Keeping Clinton Beautiful! 🌸

Clinton’s proximity to Long Island Sound is one of the many things that makes our community so special. The beauty of the Clinton Harbor area is enhanced even more by the shrubs, flowers, plantings, and colorful pots that add warmth and character to this important part of town.

The Clinton Beautification Committee would like to recognize and thank the businesses, property owners, volunteers, and community members who take the time to plant, maintain, and care for the Clinton Harbor area. These efforts may seem like small touches, but together they make a noticeable difference and help create a welcoming and vibrant community for residents and visitors alike.

Beautification is truly a community effort, and we appreciate everyone who takes pride in making Clinton look its best. 🌿🌺
