Notice: the town hall will be closing at 2:00 pm today 5/22/2026 and closed Monday 5/25/2026 for observation of Memorial Day. We will open regular hours on Tuesday 5/26/2026. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
For the imposition of all taxes, fees, and levies and the imposition of increases and additions in taxes fees and levies for the Town of Clinchco.
For the FY 2026-2027

The Clinchco Town Council hereby gives public notice of a public hearing to be held at the Clinchco Town Hall, Main Street Clinchco, VA. The hearing will take place on May 21, 2026 beginning at 5:30 PM to receive public comment on the following;
Imposition of new taxes: Moist To***co with a rate of 0.18 cents per ounce.
Imposition of new taxes: Liquid ni****ne 0.11 cents per ounce.
Notice is further given that the public hearing to be held shall include the following increases in currently imposed taxes:
Hot Meals Tax from 5% to 7%:
Cigarette Tax from .10 cents per pack of 20 to .40 cents per pack of 20 or .02 cents per cigarette.
All other taxes fees and levies previously imposed by the town council for the FY 20255-2026 shall be reimposed at the same amount or rate that is currently in affect.
All inserted persons are invited to attend and make public comment within the rules for public comment as established by the Clinchco Town Council.
