NOTICE TO CLIMAX WATER USERS
HYDRANT FLUSHING
Public Works plans to work on watermains beginning Monday, July 20 at 8:00 a.m. This will continue into Tuesday until flushing is complete.
Watermains are routinely flushed to remove minerals and to check the operation and integrity of the fire hydrants.
DISCOLORED WATER
During this time, pressure fluctuation may occur. Discolored water may occur as well due to sediment, but this is not a health issue. If you see hydrants being flushed in your area, avoid running tap water, especially hot, to keep your water heater clear of excess sediment, and using the washing machine.
If you encounter discolored water after hydrant flushing, shut the water off for several minutes, then check for clarity by running cold water for a few minutes allowing new water to work its way into the pipes. Before washing laundry, wait until the water runs clear at the tap.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this process.
