Effective June 1, 2026 the library will increase their printing fees. Black and white copies will be $0.25/page and color copies will increase to $0.50/page. We have not had a price increase since 2012, and the cost of paper and ink have steadily gone up over the last 14 years. The price increase was approved by the city council at their meeting on May 26th. Thank you for your understanding.

The library will close on Monday, May 25, 2026 for the Memorial Day holiday. Please take a moment and reflect on all who have served and sacrificed their lives so that we may live in the greatest nation of the world. We will re-open on Tuesday, May 26 at 9 am.

The library staff had the privilege of presenting the 2026 Nellie Pederson Civic Library scholarships at the CHS senior awards banquet on May 12, 2026. The scholarships are given by the Clifton Civic Improvement Society to honor the library. This years recipients are Luke Berg and Keaton Kiker. Each recipient received a scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00. The Nellie Pederson Civic Library scholarship is for those individuals who want to continue their education by attending a vocational, technical, or trade school. Luke and Keaton will be attending TSTC in Waco after graduation. Luke will be working towards a automotive technology degree and Keaton will work towards becoming an electrical lineman. CONGRATULATIONS TO CHS CLASS OF 2026!

Today, we had a wonderful story time about Pete the Cat. The children got to make Pete the Cat masks. If you missed story time today we will have another on June 10th at 10am. Come and join the fun at the library.

The library will be holding our next story time on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 10 am. We will read a book (Pete the Cat) and have an activity associated with the book. We will look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!

The library had a special visitor today! As you can see Dolly Parton came by today to promote the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, okay it's too late for a April Fools joke. You can come by the library and fill out an application through the Leah Demaree Douglas Foundation. DPIL provides free high quality books age appropriate books to children free of charge between the ages from birth to five years of age, regardless of income.

The library as well as City of Clifton offices will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, for Good Friday. Library will reopen Monday, April 6. We hope everyone enjoys the Easter Holiday!

The library was represented today at the topping out ceremony at the CyrusOne data center in Laguna Park along with the Mayor of Clifton, City Administrator, Main Street Director, City Council Alderwoman, and the Clifton Police Chief. We all signed the beam before it was hoisted to the top of the building. It was truly a great experience. The ceremony marks the final beam placement at the highest point of the structure. It is rooted in ancient Scandinavian traditions to appease tree spirits and to bring good luck.
