IRRIGATION BAN (Temporary)
On July 15, 2026, The Saratoga County Water Authority(SCWA) became aware of a leak on a 30” water main in the southern portion of Saratoga County. This line is a water source for Clifton Park Water Authority (CPWA). Once the repair was completed the Saratoga County Health Department issued a Boil Water Advisory for any water system that is actively using Saratoga County water after the repair.
In an effort to protect our customers from having to boil water we are placing an IRRIGATOION BAN until such time as the boil water advisory is lifted. This ban is a temporary measure to conserve water and not require the use of Saratoga County Water which would expose our system to potentially contaminated water. The IRRIGATION BAN helps reserve and protect water capacity for CPWA usage.
CPWA crews will be out enforcing the IRRIGATION BAN and any violators will be issued a fine for using their irrigation systems during the time that the ban is in place.
When distribution pipes and mains lose pressure or need to undergo repair it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes may enter the system. Boil Water Advisories/Orders are issued to protect public health. To lift a Boil Water Advisory/Order a water system must sample the system two days in a row and receive negative results for those samples. Your cooperation with the temporary IRRIGATION BAN will help us avoid having to issue a boil water advisory for CPWA.
For specific questions regarding the boil water please contact the Saratoga County Health Department at 518-584-7460.
