Possible Interact projects that could make a big difference in our community:
- Installing and replacing a trail-side bench in Garnsey Park
- Erecting an international Peace Pole in Clifton Park's Central Park
- Participate in World Thinking Day February 12, 2025
- Build a float for the Clifton Park Canal Day parade in Vischer Ferry October 11, 2025
- Clean up a segment of Riverview Road, part of the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway
- Plant an oak tree in Garnsey Park
Season Kick Off meeting January 22 at the Clifton Park Halfmoon Library, meeting room D at 6 PM.

Our next project will be replacing a old weathered and broken bench in the middle of Garnsey Park with a beautiful new one that will last another generation. It will feature a galvanized steel frame and tech lumber made of recycled plastic. Come join and share the pride of a project well done! Here is a photo of a similar bench.

Interact and family members planted 4 of these red maples in Garnsey Park to celebrate Earth Day 51 and Canal Clean Sweep. One of our group, hands dirty up to her wrists, very excitedly said to me, "This is fun!" There's a sugar maple to join the planting perhaps as early as Arbor Day. Glenn Griffith joined us for most of the afternoon, so check to see what is published in the Saratogian and Community News on Earth Day activities this week.
I will have to check out that blooming tree right behind us. Is it a service berry or dogwood. Either one it might yield some good "plugs" to plant and try to propagate between the maples. Also just to the left of the picture is a crab apple has several "babies" around it that might be "transplantable".
