BRADLEY COUNTY JAIL RECEIVES TCI CERTIFICATION FOLLOWING ANNUAL INSPECTION

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. (June 3, 2026) — On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) conducted its annual unannounced inspection of the Bradley County Jail.

The inspection revealed no findings at the facility, and as a result, the jail was recommended for certification by TCI inspectors. On June 3, 2026, the Tennessee Corrections Institute Board of Control met and officially certified the Bradley County Jail.

The inspection report evaluated numerous aspects of the facility's operations, including the Physical Plant, Sanitation and Maintenance, Inmate Medical Services, Inmate Food Services, Inmate Programs, and other areas related to the operation and management of the jail.

Regarding the inspection and certification, Sheriff Steve Lawson stated, "I'm not surprised that our facility passed the annual inspection, given the dedication and work of our Corrections staff from top to bottom. Their work, along with the checks and balances we have put into place at our facility, allows us to identify any issues that may arise or be on the horizon and address them immediately. The result of this inspection speaks for itself, and it is clearly the product of the hard work of each and every member of our Corrections staff. I certainly give them credit and appreciate their dedication."

The certification reflects the Bradley County Jail's continued compliance with Tennessee Corrections Institute standards and the commitment of its staff to maintaining a safe, secure, and professionally operated correctional facility.
