Christmas is coming to the ReStore!

A huge thank you to our local AmeriCorps VISTAs who joined us this morning to help transform the ReStore for the holiday season!

From decorating the store to helping us kick off our Christmas sales, their extra hands and cheerful spirits made a big difference. We are so grateful for their continued commitment to serving our community – and for spending part of their morning with us!

In observance of Labor Day, both the Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland office and ReStore will be closed Monday, September 7.

We are grateful for the hardworking staff, volunteers, partners, and neighbors who give their time and talents to help build stronger communities every day. 💙🔨

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who believes in our mission and wants to use their talents to make a difference right here in our community.

💙 This is what coming full circle looks like. 🏡

Today, we had a very special visit from longtime Habitat homeowner, volunteer, and friend, Tami Croft, who stopped by the office with lunch for our team and an incredibly generous donation to support our mission.

Tami knows firsthand what a Habitat home can mean for a family. And years later, she continues to give back—volunteering her time, encouraging our work, and now helping create those same opportunities for other families in our community.

That’s one of the most meaningful parts of Habitat. A home can be the beginning of something much bigger. When homeowners become volunteers, advocates, donors, and some of our greatest supporters, the impact continues far beyond the day they receive their keys.

Tami, thank you for continuing to build alongside us and for helping make the path to homeownership possible for the neighbors who come next. 💙🔨🏡

🏠 Construction Update! 🔨

There’s a lot happening across our Habitat jobsites as several homes move closer to completion—and we’re already preparing for what’s ahead!

🔹 1996 Blythe – Drywall is going up, siding has started on the gable and back of the home, and the cornice is complete. We’re also preparing for the back slab and working toward water and electrical hookups.

🔹 1998 Blythe – Drywall hanging is complete and finishing work is beginning! J-mold installation for the siding is underway, utility hookups have been requested, and preparations are being made for the back slab.

🔹 122 Southgate – Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are complete and moving into inspections. Insulation and drywall are coming up next, along with work on the retaining wall and preparations for electrical power.

🔹 127 & 135 Southgate – After an unexpected delay with the roof trusses, they are officially back in production! We’re working to get construction schedules back on track so we can keep these homes moving forward.

🔹 Looking ahead at Southgate – Lot clearing has begun for three more homes planned for next year! 🌳➡️🏠

Every sheet of drywall, piece of siding, inspection, and cleared lot represents another step toward affordable homeownership for families in our community. We’re grateful for the volunteers, partners, donors, and construction team who help keep us building! 💙💚

This week, we’re celebrating 15 years of service! 💙🏠

At Tuesday night’s board meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing ReStore Director LaManda Bowers and Homeowner Services Manager NaCole Massengill, who have each recently celebrated an incredible 15 years of service with Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland!

LaManda and NaCole like to call themselves a “package deal,” and over the past 15 years, they have grown alongside Habitat—taking on new responsibilities, stepping in wherever they are needed, and continually going above and beyond for our families, volunteers, and community.

Their dedication to our mission has helped shape who we are today, and we are so grateful for the many years they have poured into Habitat.

Please join us in congratulating LaManda and NaCole on 15 years each of building homes, community, and hope! 🎉💚

On Thursday, we celebrated Michaela as she officially wrapped up her AmeriCorps VISTA term with Habitat! 💙🏡

Throughout her time with us, Michaela has made such a meaningful impact—from strengthening our volunteer program and connecting people with opportunities to serve, to simply being a wonderful part of our team. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart she has poured into our mission and our community.

Michaela, thank you for choosing to spend this chapter serving alongside Habitat. We will miss having you on our team, but we are so excited to see where your next chapter takes you!
