Last seen crossing the road of Gates Mills Blvd. near Kersdale Rd. with no regard for traffic laws or officer authority. Believed to be operating without proper lane discipline.

Officer Ahlstrom had some very special visitors stop by this week! Grady and Kendall came to say thank you for attending Grady’s birthday party last week 💙

Officer Ahlstrom had a great time celebrating with Grady and his friends, where he answered lots of questions from a curious group of 5-year-olds about police officers, police equipment, and how they can stay safe. Their excitement, thoughtful questions, and smiling faces made it a memorable day!

It was wonderful to see Grady and Kendall again and hear how much they enjoyed the visit. Thank you for inviting us to be part of such a special celebration.

Come join us for a little old-fashioned fun this Fourth of July!

America turns 250 this year, and we're celebrating the right way - with a neighborhood bike parade up Gates Mills Boulevard, led by the Pepper Pike Fire Engine and escorted by our Police, just like parades are supposed to be.

Kids, decorate your bikes and line up at the head of Gates Mills Blvd. across from City Hall at 9:50 a.m. The parade will kick off at 10:00! We'll roll up the boulevard together, fire engine out front, all the way to the midpoint of Gates Mills at Lander- then ride back through our Gates Mills Linear Park.

The parade ends right at Pepper Pike Park, so bring your snacks and picnic baskets, let the kids loose on the playground, and enjoy a little time together as neighbors before everyone heads off to their family celebrations.

Families, neighbors, and community organizations are all welcome to join the fun. Whether it is in your convertible or your historical car, walking your dog or simply marching in the parade all are welcome. If you like to watch the parade and cheer from the sidelines parking is available at Friendship Circle or side roads.

Come for the parade. Stay for the Trail.

Beachwood Police Department Community Advisory
On Monday, June 8, at approximately 12:21 p.m., the Beachwood Police Department responded to a report of an individual experiencing a mental health crisis on Greenwich Lane. The individual was reported to be in possession of a firearm.

Out of an abundance of caution, officers temporarily closed the roadway and asked nearby residents to shelter in place while they worked to resolve the situation safely. Officers also used the department's drone technology to increase situational awareness and support public and officer safety.

Through communication with the individual and family members, officers were able to peacefully de-escalate the situation. The individual unloaded the firearm, exited the residence without incident, and was transported for evaluation and treatment.
The Beachwood Police Department appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents during this incident. We are grateful that the situation was resolved safely and without injury to the individual, responding officers, or community members.

Mental health crises can affect individuals and families from all walks of life. The Beachwood Police Department remains committed to responding to these situations with professionalism, compassion, and a focus on community safety.

🐾 This sweet senior pup was found wandering our neighborhood recently, & thanks to our Pet Registry, we got him home safe and sound! 🏠❤️

Our officers were able to quickly identify his owner and reunite them because they had registered their pet with our department. It made all the difference!

Please be aware that Gail Allison Drive will be resurfaced on June 11-12. If weather or other unforeseen circumstances cause delays, June 15 will serve as the alternate completion date.

During this project, the road will remain open to provide access to all campus facilities; however, expect single-lane traffic in some areas and plan for possible delays. We encourage you to allow extra travel time, use caution and drive carefully through the construction zone. Plan accordingly for OCER classes, appointments, and campus activities. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements to our campus infrastructure.
