Hello Again!!!
While out over the weekend passing out leaflets about the pending Fuel tax increase. We met a lot of nice people. One of the most common statements was "There’s nothing we can do to stop them". Next was "what about all the other taxes that keep going up or added".
Well for the first statement. The answer is yes there is something we can do we can voice our disapproval through e-mails and phone calls. Next is at the ballot box. The politicians never seem to push for tax increases during an election cycle they have counted on voters to have short memories. Well Ohio Yellow Vest wants to help remind voters. So we will create a page to list every Ohio politician that votes to raise our taxes. We will need your help. We want every level of government held accountable towns, cities, counties so if in your town city county they vote to increase a tax or fee let us know so we can post the details on Our Ohioyellowvest.com web site.
As for the second statement we here at Ohio Yellow Vest Agree. It is highly unlikely that any Ohioan knows every Tax or fee that we are paying to the government. So for this once again we are calling on everyone’s help. We’d like to compile a list of all the different types of taxes and or fees that We The People are being forced to pay. As you send them in we will list these on Ohioyellowvest.com web site. This is for all taxes and fees local to Federal and everything in between. When submitting the tax or fee please include Title of the tax or fee and if it’s local, State, or Federal. Our definition for a tax or fee is any monies the government takes from us.
Example; (Ohio), Ohio income tax / (Ohio) Fishing License/ (Cuyahoga County) Dog License (Federal) Income tax / (Cleveland) Trash Collection fee
This is a work in progress so it may take some time to get it up and running so please be patient. And remember….. Together we can do this….

Hello Ohioans and Welcome to Ohio Yellow Vest.
As you may already know Ohio politicians are at it again…. They just love to tax and spend. We here at Ohio Yellow Vest want to change this practice.

Right now the catalyst behind this movement was the originally proposed increase of .18 cent per gallon in the state fuel tax. Knowing this would be viewed on negatively by the public the politicians went right to their old playbook and offer a so called compromise. So what did our Ohio representatives Vote on and pass March 03, 2019 sending it to the Ohio Senate Looking for final approval by March 31st 2019. Well for gas it was a 10.7 cent increases per gallon bringing the total Ohio tax to a total of 38.7 cents per gallon but they didn’t stop there. They also want to increase the tax on diesel an additional .20 cent per gallon bring the total Ohio tax on a gallon of diesel to .48 cents per gallon. But in their attempts to try to pass these taxes through without much notice they turn yet again to their old play book. The plan is to implemented these increases over the next two years for gas and three years for diesel. This is nothing more than (Turn the heat up slowly so the frogs don’t jump out of the pot technique to raising taxes). But hold on, that’s not all in their ever increasing money grab just for good measure they’ve also approved municipalities and townships to levy an additional $5 motor vehicle registration fee. All this in the name of repairing our infrastructure, yet another page out of their old stale playbook because after all who could be against repairing our ever crumbling roads……. ..(Sigh)
So when you combined this with all the other taxes, fees and over burdensome regulations imposed by the state, counties and cities it’s becoming more and more of a situation here in Ohio, in order to keep this ever growing government beast fed “We The People” are working longer and harder and getting to keep less and less of our own monies. It’s time for this to STOP!!!
First Step. We must join together and stop these fuel taxes and registration fee increases
Please use the links provide on our “Contact Governor” and our “Contact Representative” pages. Let them know that we are against any ideas of increasing the tax burden on the hard work men and women of Ohio.
To be clear we all know taxes are necessary in keeping a functional government and society going. But it has become far too easy for politicians not to be good stewards of the tax payers’ monies. It’s become too easy for them to just increase taxes and fees instead of becoming more efficient, cutting out waste, reorganizing, restructuring and or reallocating existing monies. It’s time for people here in Ohio to change this trend and force a more fiscal disciplined government.
