Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month ๐
This May, letโs elevate our understanding and support within the African American and Hispanic communities for a health issue that needs more attention: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). ๐ง ๐
๐ถ FASD describes various effects that can occur in someone whose mother consumed alcohol during pregnancy, including physical, behavioral, and learning difficulties. These challenges often extend to mental health, affecting individuals and families across generations.
๐ข Hereโs how we can make a difference:
1๏ธโฃ Learn and share information about FASD to increase awareness.
2๏ธโฃ Provide support to families and individuals dealing with FASD.
3๏ธโฃ Push for more resources and improved care in our communities.
๐ค By coming together, we can create a supportive environment that acknowledges and addresses mental health openly and compassionately. Letโs keep the conversation going beyond just May and strive for change every day!
