🚔 Third District Drug Enforcement Investigation Leads to Arrests and Seizures

On June 17th, members of the Third District VICE Unit, Violent Crime Reduction Team (VCRT), and Downtown Services Unit (DSU) conducted a drug enforcement investigation in the 2000 block of Ontario Street related to a narcotics complaint.

As a result of the operation, two males, ages 38 and 41, were arrested and charged with Having Weapons While Under Disability (ORC 2923.13).

Detectives also seized one firearm, approximately 12 grams of suspected crack co***ne, three cellular phones, and $142.26 in U.S. currency.

This investigation highlights the continued commitment of Third District personnel to addressing illegal narcotics activity and enhancing public safety through proactive enforcement efforts.

Tuesday, Third District Officers, along with officers from the Bureau of Community Policing, had the opportunity to visit summer camp students at Campus International School as part of Playhouse Square’s Hometown Heroes program.
Officers enjoyed spending time with students and teachers, answering questions, sharing conversations, and handing out Cleveland Division of Police swag. Building positive relationships with our youth and community is an important part of what we do, and we are grateful for opportunities like this to connect outside of emergency situations.
A special thank you to Campus International School and Playhouse Square for helping make this visit such a success. We look forward to continuing to engage with and inspire the next generation!

Earlier this week, Third District Community Engagement Officers proudly participated in the Red Cross Blood Drive at Progressive Field.
Donating blood is a simple act that can make a lifesaving difference for patients in need. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the American Red Cross and join other community members in helping ensure a stable blood supply for those facing medical emergencies and treatments.

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Third District Policing Committee meeting at Fatima Family Center. We appreciate the community members, neighborhood leaders, and public safety partners who took the time to join the conversation and work together to strengthen our district.

Third District Officers, alongside Councilwoman Gray and representatives from City Hall Community Relations, spent time walking the Broadway and Cable area, meeting with residents and business owners to discuss neighborhood concerns and quality-of-life issues.
These conversations are an important part of strengthening community partnerships and ensuring that the voices of those who live and work in the area are heard. Officer Petkac had a great time stopping by the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland at 6114 Broadway Avenue today! 🏓
While visiting, Officer Petkac joined the kids for several exciting games of ping pong. Although he gave it his best effort, the kids proved to be tough competitors and took home most of the wins! 😄
Building positive relationships with our youth is an important part of community policing, and opportunities like these allow us to connect, have fun, and support the amazing programs offered by the Boys & Girls Club.

Today, officers from Cleveland Police Third District proudly participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run through Downtown Cleveland alongside fellow members of the Cleveland Division of Police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is more than a run—it’s a celebration of inclusion, determination, and the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Ohio. We are honored to help carry the Flame of Hope and support an organization that inspires our communities every day.

🚓 A great day on the water with our community!
Members of the Cleveland Division of Police were proud to participate in the annual Cops & Kids Fishing Day, hosted by the Cleveland Police Foundation and PAL (Police Athletic League). This special event brought officers and local youth together to enjoy fishing, build positive relationships, and create lasting memories.
