GONE HOME
Very sad today as I learned of the death of a dear friend and long-time Scouter, Margie Bibbs. Margie was one of my mentors, having first met at Cub Scout Day Camp in 1996. Later, she encouraged me to become district CSDC director, then council CSDC chair, take Wood Badge training, and get more involved on the district and council levels.
Margie was an Eagle Scout Mom; Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow; former Cuyahoga Lodge Adviser; former Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training staff member; and former employee of the Greater Cleveland Council.
She was active at the unit, district, council, and diocesan levels. Margie was a recipient of the District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, Bronze Pelican, St. George's Award, and numerous other honors and recognitions.
Most of all, Margie was a dear friend to all who always had a warm smile, no matter the circumstances, and always looked on the bright side of life. She coined a phrase I repeat often (and always think of her when I say it): "Do your best and flush the rest!"
Margie died last night after several years of medical issues and declining health. The family will be announcing funeral arrangements soon. Her husband Art Bibbs has asked me to help spread the word among Margie's Scouting family that she has gone home.
