Mississippi State University Extension of Bolivar County MSU Extension Service is dedicated to serving the needs of Mississippians by providing educational information and programs to enhance the quality of life.

4-H & Youth Development: This program strives to improve the quality of life for Mississippi youth by developing youth potential and by providing "hands on" educational programs. Programs are delivered through local county agents and volunteer leaders. Agriculture & Natural Resources: This program delivers research-based information and technology to landowner, farmers and agribusiness and natural

resource managers that can be used for more efficient production, marketing, and distribution of food, fiber and duel products as well as sustained and wise use of forestry, wildlife, and fisheries resources. Community Resource Development: This program is to strengthen the capacity of citizens, organizations, and governments within the state of Mississippi to understand community change and identify opportunities to improve their social well-being. Family & Consumer Sciences: This program improves health and wellness of Mississippi residents. The nutrition, health and food safety education programs help Mississippi residents acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary to maintain healthy lifestyles; reduce incident and severity of selective lifestyle related diseases; and improve safe food practices from farm to table to reduce food born illness.
