June is PTSD Awareness Month.

PTSD can affect people of any age and may develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma and encourages those affected to seek support.

On May 6, YAC member Michael Jung attended the 20th Annual Resiliency Ring at the Ohio Statehouse, joining advocates, community members, and mental health leaders in raising awareness and promoting resilience. A meaningful day of advocacy, connection, and support for youth mental health. 💚

Looking for disability-friendly resources and inclusive programs in Northeast Ohio?

Westlake Porter Public Library Disability Resources offers adapted storytimes, social programs, sensory supports, a universal changing table, disability resource collections, and more for children, teens, adults, and their families. The library is also Sensory Inclusive™ certified and provides sensory bags and other accessibility tools.

Become a Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Good Life Ambasador

You can become a Good Life Ambassador (GLA).

GLAs share their perspectives and lived experiences to help increase disability acceptance and inclusion in the community.

GLAs present on topics ranging from tips for interacting with people with disabilities to the importance of equity and inclusion everywhere.

Adult residents in Cuyahoga County with developmental disabilities are invited to review the position, responsibilities, and qualifications.
