You never know what you'll find in the pool skimmer when you open it in the morning. Unfortunately, I've been finding frogs and lizards in there, drowned or poisoned by the concentration of chlorine. Ariel and I have taken it upon ourselves to check it often and rescue what we can. Those animals, after all, do eat bugs! This morning we found what I think is a rat snake who had cleverly pulled himself out of the water. He's a little cold but looks healthy and was placed under the deck. Before anyone thinks I should've done differently, remember this is why we moved out here: to be with nature. And nature can sometimes be creepy-crawly! I'm happy to help in my little way. ~Biff.

It's a rainy day up here at The Aerie. Ariel the boxer and Godfrey the cat watch the weather from the balcony and ignore the wildlife being turned up.
