▪️ What do you love most about caring for Veterans?
One of my first interactions with the VA was observing a VA staff member who entered the waiting area to assist a Veteran. She proudly, and unsolicited, proclaimed that we are here to serve those who have served our country and to fulfill our Mission of Caring for those who have borne the battle. What an impression that made. Putting the patient, our Veterans, at the center of all we do is what I love. Such an honor to care for those who have served our country and the sacrifices they and their families have made to keep us free. But what I most love about being a VA nurse is the role of supporting, caring and developing an amazing nursing team that provides excellent care to our Veterans. It is so important to maintain a positive work environment and foster a culture where my team wants to come to work and give 100% to our Veterans and to each other. Feeling that they matter and are supported fosters an environment where they can give their very best in all they do to care for those we serve. I am so honored and blessed to be the ANM for Telehealth.
▪️ What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
So many things…I enjoy traveling and exploring this beautiful world we live in. Spending time with my family. (Having 3 grandkids keeps me young and tired!) I have a great little mini farm, so interacting with all kinds of creatures brings a sense of joy and peace into my world. Experiencing life and taking in every moment, especially the little things, is where I find the most enjoyment.
