Here we are again.
Let me introduce Sara Elaqad, a symbol of corruption within the CMSD board. Sara has displayed a troubling attitude toward students, especially when they exercised their First Amendment rights at the last school board meeting. Alongside Warren Morgan, who's as corrupted as she is! She is part of the team responsible for the upcoming layoffs of over 300 Cleveland Metro Schools staff members.
Sara is an unelected, corrupt, and indifferent associate of the mayor’s staff, the mayor himself, and Warren Morgan. She was part of the decision-making team that approved raises for district executives, pushing Warren Morgan’s salary to $299,250 annually. On top of that, he receives a $9,000 allowance, a district-provided vehicle for his commutes, while CMSD teachers earn between $45,000 and $53,000 at entry level, with less than $80,000 after four years.
This corruption has led to the closure of over 20 schools and the termination of more than 300 staff across CMSD facilities. Sara and Warren show no concern for our children; they were installed in these positions by a mayor who also neglects our city’s needs. Both Morgan and Elaqad should resign immediately, allowing qualified, well-intentioned individuals to step in. The CMSD board should be an elected body, composed of parents and community members, rather than appointees and court employees.
The letter Sara sent to CMSD staff shows her true side, how angry she was at the students exercising their First Amendment rights. She blames them for making it “impossible to present” the reasons behind the layoffs, yet she showed no interest in reviewing the PowerPoint while the students chant. These are just an excuse to justify their actions. Her focus was solely on criticizing students for speaking out, which literally shows why we need an elected, accountable board that can be recalled when necessary.
Morgan must be fired, and Elaqad should resign. We are committed to making that happen!
