Pine Burr Elementary families,

The Houston Food Bank Community Assistance Program (CAP) will be hosting its SNAP Summer Tour at various locations throughout the Houston area this summer. The program provides free application assistance for SNAP, TANF, CHIP, Medicaid, Medicare Savings Programs, and Healthy Texas Women.

Please note: These events are not sponsored by or affiliated with Cleveland ISD or Pine Burr Elementary. We are sharing this information as a community resource for families who may be interested.

🌱 Calling All Incoming 2026–2027 Pre-K & Kinder Families! 🌱
Get ready to start your educational journey with Growing Foundations: A Pre-K & Kinder Adventure!
This special event is the perfect opportunity for you and your little learner to explore Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms through fun, hands-on activities and learning adventures. Plus, students will receive materials to help kickstart their Cleveland ISD journey (while supplies last)!
Families can choose one date and one session to attend:

Wednesday, June 3, 2026 – Southside Elementary (303 E. Fort Worth St.)
Wednesday, June 10, 2026 – Santa Fe Elementary (7499 County Rd 3540)

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

District offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, May 27.

We wish everyone a safe Memorial Day.

Este Memorial Day recordamos y honramos a quienes dieron su vida en servicio a nuestro país. Su sacrificio nunca será olvidado.

Gracias por acompañarnos, apoyarnos y colaborar con nosotros durante nuestras ceremonias de reconocimientos. Ver a nuestros estudiantes celebrados por sus familias hace que estos momentos sean aún más especiales.

Les recordamos que hoy tendremos dos celebraciones importantes:

Thank you for your presence, support, and partnership during our awards ceremonies. Seeing our students celebrated by their families makes these moments even more special.

A reminder that we have two exciting celebrations today:

🎓 Kinder Graduation – 9:00 AM
Students from Mrs. Rozier, Mrs. Wilhelm, and Mrs. Sanchez (Basic Skills)

🏅 5th Grade Promotion & Awards – 2:00–3:30 PM
📍 Cafeteria

To help us provide a safe, organized, and meaningful experience for all families, please remember:
✔️ No gifts, balloons, flowers, or celebration items inside the building
✔️ Dress appropriately for a school setting
✔️ Bring a physical photo ID for entry
✔️ Partner with our Front Office team and follow check-in procedures for a smooth arrival process

If your child was invited to Summer Camp, please check their backpack and return the invitation letter by tomorrow, Tuesday May 19.

More than 500 students were invited, but only 90 forms have been returned so far.

Your response helps us plan:
✔️ Student placement
✔️ Staffing
✔️ Summer learning opportunities

Even if your child will not attend, please return the form.
